Garden or bed: Date:
- Drip line found by standing under the outer branches
- Ring width picked, 3 feet or more
- Diameter measured across the trunk
- Soil drainage checked and depth picked
- Old mulch measured if the ring already has some
- Bag count from the calculator
- Ring raked flat and bare soil left around the trunk
- Width, depth and date written down
